Police investigated and he was convicted on 8 counts of murder, sentenced to live out his days in the mental hospital he had been a patient at on and off for many years. There was just one small catch… Thomas Quick never actually killed anyone.
S2 Episode 9 – The Forced Disappearance of the Ayotzinapa 43
When a group of students from a rural college in Guerrero, Mexico, attempted to find transportation to a protest, their arrival in nearby Iguala was not received well. Confronted by police, students and civilians were fired upon, killing 6 and injuring 25. Most egregious of all, 43 students were forcibly disappeared with hardly a trace.
S2 Episode 7 – Holiday Gloom: The Murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier
Two days before Christmas in 1996, the small town of Toormore in West Cork, Ireland, was rocked by the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, the first murder in the area in almost four decades. Although the murder is still considered unsolved in Ireland, the French legal system found Ian Bailey guilty of her murder.
